Meet Lacey Radla, she’s one of our expert Design Consultants here at Austintatious. Lacey joined us in 2016 and with her unique ability to connect with anyone, she has been a joy to work alongside!
We asked Lacey a few questions to help our customers to feel right at home in our showroom and supported by our friendly and knowledgeable team.
How long have you been working with Austintatious?
I have been here for 3.5 years!
What is your attraction to interior design?
I love meeting our clients and helping their vision come to life. The creative aspect is so fun, I love helping someone create a space that turns a house into a home.
What publications or Instagram accounts do you like to follow for design inspiration?
West Elm, Houzz, Pinterest, Magnolia
When you’re speaking with a new client, what are the first questions you ask?
I always try to find out a little bit about the client before I dive into window treatments. What brought them to the area? What is their style? I really try to get an idea of who they are.
When you first walk into a client’s home to assess a bare window, what do you look for?
When I walk into a home, the first thing I look at when looking at a bare window is the view. Is it a view they will want to maintain? Are there privacy needs? Etc. Once I’ve taken that in, I consider the actual window itself. If the window is arched, cased, bull-nose, and whether or not it has casement depth are all things I think about before even asking a client what they are trying to accomplish.
What is your personal favorite window treatment and why?
My favorite window treatment is the Hunter Douglas Pirouette® Shade with PowerView Motorization, as it gives you the most privacy and lighting control.
Do you have a favorite project that you’ve worked on recently?
I do! I work with quite a few local interior designers directly and recently completed a job with Designed to Show Off on Lake Lyndon B. Johnson. We were able to provide the client with a complete solution of window coverings, draperies, and exterior shades for sun control. I LOVE seeing everything come together beautifully at the end.
In your opinion, what is your favorite part of your job?
It is definitely the people I get to meet and the relationships I get to build. I have so many clients that I do multiple projects with that make this job so fun.
If you’re in need of new window treatments, feel free to stop by our showroom or schedule a design consultation. Our design team would love to help outfit your home with the perfect window treatment!
